I have a couple of friends who have kids that made me smile recently and I just wanted to say thank you – it gives me hope in the next generation. Hope for acceptance and understanding and love in spite of all of our human differences.
These kids have known me for a long time and when their parents told them about my transition they both just “got it” and wanted to let me know they still love me and want me to continue to be a part of their lives. And they ask great questions too! Like “if I am talking about you in the past when you were a girl is it ok to say ‘she’?” Amazing insight and sensitivity.
Great kids require great parents – so kudos to my friends who are making the future brighter by raising such enlightened human beings.
